Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a bead with stabilized extrusion shape and easily perform patterning of the entire surface of the bead by forming a pattern on one side of a plate-shaped blank formed by extrusion molding of a thermoplastic resin and rolling up the blank such that the side formed with the pattern will come on the outside.
CONSTITUTION: A thermoplastic synthetic resin is plasticized and extruded into a plate-shaped blank 10 by an extruder 1. Upon extrusion, the blank 10 is passed between the patterning rolls 2 while still maintaining the deforming temperature, thereby forming a pattern on one side of the blank. The patterning rolls 2 consist of a lower roll 2a engraved with a pattern on one side of the surface and an upper roll 2b made of an elastic material such as rubber, and by passing the blank 10 between the upper and lower rolls 2a, 2b, the pattern is transferred to one side of the back side of the blank 10. Then the blank 10 provided with the pattern is introduced into a sizing means 3 where a bead 11 is formed along one edge while the blank 10 is still maintaining the deforming temperature.
