Abstract

PURPOSE:To form uniform liquid chambers without use of an adhesive and stabilize jetting condition by covering spaces formed among alternately staggered flat plates with a vibration plate, nozzle plate, and back-face plate. CONSTITUTION:Plural flat plates 1 finished as smoothly as gage blocks are each formed with two holes 2 in positions slightly deviated from the center. The plates 1 are piled up with alternate staggers so that the holes 2 are aligned, to form spaces between every other plate 1. In this constitution, ink is fed from an ink feed pipe 15 into liquid chambers 12 through an ink reservoir 16 and ink feed holes 14. With a signal fed to a piezoelectric vibrator 17, the vibrator 17 is distorted to reduce the volumes of the chambers 12, so that ink droplets are jetted from nozzles 13. Though this action is similar to that in conventional art, the internal volumes of the chambers 12 are uniform, so that the jetting of ink droplets from each nozzle 13 is constand and the operation is stable.
