Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the high temp. toughness and high temp. ductility of a Co alloy by adding a restricted amt. of C, Si, Mn, Ni, Cr, W, B, Zr, Nb, Ti, Ta, Hf, etc. to Co.
CONSTITUTION: A Co alloy consisting of, by wt., C 0.15W2%, Si≤2%, Mn≤2%, Ni 5W15%, Cr 18W35%, W 3W15%, B 0.003W1%, Zr 0.05W0.3%, Nb 1.1W3%, and the balance Co and inevitable impurities. One or more out of Ti, Ta and Hf 0.01W1% may be added to the alloy. In this alloy compsn. the Ti, Nb and Zr are combinedly contained with optimum relation to the C, W, B, Cr and Ni contents. By this compsn. superior high temp. strength and high temp. toughness esp. at temps. above 982°C are provided.
