Abstract

PURPOSE: To stably protect an inverter against a load side shortage accident by providing a constant voltage control loop and a constant-current control loop and switching the constant current control by the constant current loop during overcurrent state when becoming overcurrent state.
CONSTITUTION: A constant voltage control circuit 16 operating based on the output voltage of an inverter 8 and a constant current control circuit 42 operating based on the output current are provided to control switching operation between on or off switches 41 and 45 contained therein by a flip-flop 40. The circuit 42 is cut off by the signal of the flip-flop 40 at normal operating time to operate with the constant voltage control loop. When an abnormal current such as load shortage occurs, an overcurrent sensor 47 detects it to then invert the flip-flop 40 to thereby operate only the constant current control loop. Accordingly, it flows only constant current within the inverter commutating limit regardless of the shortage impedance to protect it.
