Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain the simple device monitoring condition of surface of the sea that is polluted, by means of an unmanned system wherein surface of the sea is searched by Doppler speedometers scanning over the sea area where pollution is forecasted, and the speed of progress of water is measured.
CONSTITUTION: Doppler speedometers 3, 4 are installed into bases 9, 10, which are built on the bottom of the sea and are projected on the sea, and beams 5, 7 for searching the surface of the sea are oscillated from windows 12, 13 disposed to these projected portions. A vector arithmetic unit 14 connected to the Doppler speedmeters 3, 4 is installed to one base 9, and connected to a comparison device 15. The beams 5, 7 continually search toward the sea area 16 where pollution is foreseen, speed components 6, 8 at a searching point 17 are measured, vector is counted, and the speed of progress of waves is gained. The signals are input to the comparison device 15, and compared with the speed of progress peculiar to seawater, the searching point 17 is judged to be the sea area where pollution is forecasted when both speed differs, and an alarm is given.
