Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the number of counters for measurement in the case when continuously measuring a rotary period, by a system wherein the content of time is temporarily memorized synchronizing the content with the signals of an angle of revolution of an engine crank-shaft, etc. generated from a rotary sensor and time is counted.
CONSTITUTION: Two signals generated from a rotation sensor mounted to a shaft of a distributor making a turn every time a crank-shaft of an engine makes two revolution are counted by means of a duodecimal counter, and the positional signals of the crank-shaft are produced. Time at that time of timers 207, 208 is latched 209, 210 by the signals, and time latched is transferred to a CPU through buffers 211, 212 and a data bus 404 by timer READ instructions transmitted through a terminal 408 from the CPU. Time between a fixed angle is measured by calculating the time difference of the signals transferred.
