Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the stability of signal detection with a higher density of the detecting element by means of a plurality of electrode fixing strips made of a metal plate coated on both the sides with an insulator to support the anode and cathode.
CONSTITUTION: Electrode fixing strips 6 each having an anode 2 and a cathode 3 welded on both the sides are inserted securely into grooves of the electrode retaining plates 1. If the space between the electrode retaining plates 1 is d, detecting elements to be packed can be double by selecting the thickness of the electrode fixing plate 6 at a value equivalent to d/2 in the distance between the electrodes. The electrode fixing plate 6 is coated on both the sides with an insulator 7 and a metal foil 8 is welded on a portion to be done so to make a laminated construction. By this, grounding is made in the route as shown by the dotted line even if a dark current is caused.
