Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent inflection vibrator by fixing an angle contained between the XY surface of a KLN single crystal and the length direction of a stripe of piece obtained by cutting the crystal. CONSTITUTION:On the basis of right-angled coordinate axes X, Y and Z of crystal's own, a stripe of a crystal piece cut in a given direction in the order of (phi), (theta) and (PSI). In this case, angle (theta) contained between the XY surface and the length direction of the stripe of the cut crystal piece is selected between 15 deg. and 35 deg.. Cut crystal piece 1 provides inflection vibrations as shown as the arrow. This cutting direction improves frequency characteristics near the normal temperature and a vibrator can be obtained which is suitable for an electronic-watch time-reference vibrator.
