Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve non-linearity of an output signal to an input signal by arranging a metal electrode, which is in parallel to a channel or correction channel and extending to the outside and inside of the channel, via an insulating film on channels. CONSTITUTION:The transfer part of main channel 33, formed at a part surrounded with dotted line 32 and n-type diffusion layers 27 and 31, provides the transfer and detection of signal charge and bias charge. Correction channel 37 is formed being surrounded with dotted line 36 and n-type diffusion layers 34 and 35. Transfer states of the main channel is formed of metal transfer electrodes 21-25 for single transfer. Then, metal balanced electrode 70 is arranged which is in parallel channel 33 or 37 and extending to both the inside and outside of a channel stop and then applied with direct-current voltage Vc.
