Abstract
PURPOSE: To make it possible to reproduce a normal received picture even if an original would be set slanting by detecting the slant of the leading edge of the original and then by feeding the original so that a main scan will be moved gradually into a sub-scanning direction in accordance with the detection result.
CONSTITUTION: This system consists of transmitted original 30, feed roller 31 feeding the transmitted original, motor 32 driving feed roller 31, etc. Then, when transmitted original 30 is set and a scan on its scanning surface 36 is taken, original 30 is fed slanting and when the scanning surface is in position, the horizontal position of the leading edge of original 30 shifts gradually. In this case, scanning lines 41∼48 move gradually into a sub-scanning direction against the original and according to it, the leading-edge position changes. The leading edge of the original is denoted by X2 on scanning line 41 and by X1 on scanning line 43. Namely, the back of the original is blackened and a difference in shade between the original and its back on each scanning line is utilized to detect the leading edge position of the original. Consequently, the slant and its direction can be found by making use of this.
