Abstract

PURPOSE:To select a system automatically by an output signal varying with a decision result of not less than two system signals among NTSC, PAL and SECAM systems. CONSTITUTION:System discriminator 1 is provided with reference oscillator 7 with turning forks 7a and 7b for a 1st tape speed and 2nd tape speed, tape control circuit 8, and divider circuit 9 deviding the frequency of oscillator 7, and control signal amplifiers 10 which amplifies a control signal stored on a tape, and comparator 11 making a comparison between output frequencies of circuit 9 and amplifier 10 are further provided. This unit 1 discriminates not less than two signals of various systems and level signals of high and low levels are outputted from comparator 11 to VTR6. This supplied signal is superposed upon a video signal supplied to terminal 4 by video signal processing circuit 3 and supplied to receiver 19, thereby recording or reproducing an image on an automatically-selected system.
