Abstract
PURPOSE: To produce blanks for cylindrical inner and outer races of good accuracy by expanding the inner circumferential side part of truncated cone form blanks to the outer side and narrowing the outside circumferential side part to the inner side thereby forming these to cylindrical form.
CONSTITUTION: A blank 1 cut from a heated round bar is formed to a flat form blank 2 in the first process E. In the second process F, the cup-form blank 6 integrated with a cylindrical blank 3 for outer race, a blank 4 of truncated cone form in axial section for inner race and a plane-form thirling part 5 is formed. In the third process G, the cylindrical outer race blank 3, truncated cone form blank 4 for inner race and thirling part 5 are separated to individual bodies. In the fourth process, the inside circumferential side part 7 is expanded to the outer side and the outside circumferential side part 8 is narrowed to the inner side. The truncated cone form blank 4 for inner race is formed to a tubular blank 13 for inner race is formed to a tubular blank 13 for inner race by a center punch 9, outer punch 10, die 11 and knock-out 12. The blank 13 for inner race and blank 3 for outer race undergo annealing, machining, heat treating and grinding, whereby the inner and outer races for ball bearings, etc. are produced.
