Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the excessive collector current of the output transistor by detecting that the voltage from DC input power supply becomes below a predetermined value, and then reducing base current of the output transistor.
CONSTITUTION: When voltage from a DC input power supply 1 is lowered abnormally, voltage VB at a connecting point 26 proceeds to voltage at a DC voltage terminal 23. Under the state the voltage drop of the DC input power supply 1 is within a predetermined range, a transistor 27 is in cutoff. Resistance values of resistors 24, 25 are so determined that the transistor 27 is turned to conduction in the event the voltage drop is further reduced and exceeds the above limit range. By so doing, base current of an output transistor 3 is partially directed to the transistor 27 at that abnormal time. As a result, collector current of the transistor 3 is no longer increased and breakage of the transistor can be prevented positively.
