Abstract

PURPOSE: To maintain stable synchronous operation by the method wherein the internal phase difference angle of a synchronous motor is detected, and the field current is varied so as to make the phase difference angle small when the phase difference angle has approached the preset value.
CONSTITUTION: The time phase of the output signal of detector 4 is matched with the phase of the no-load induced voltage of the synchronous motor. By monitoring the phase difference between the output of detector 4 and the on-load motor terminal voltage, the variation of the internal phase difference angle is observed. This internal phase difference angle is detected, and the field current is increased when this internal phase difference angle has approached a preset value, 90°, for example, and thereby the force of synchronization is enlarged and step-out is prevented.
