Abstract

PURPOSE: A pipe clamping device in a pipe drilling apparatus to drill in a winding shaft for a shutter a hole for installing a spring and other equipments therein.
CONSTITUTION: A pipe P is supplied one after one to a processing position C from a pipe feeder. The supply is detected by a limit switch, and a sizing cylinder 45 is operated to position the pipe P. When the pipe is set in the predetermined processing position, a clamp device 27 is operated to clamp it by clamping nails 46. At the same time, a holding device 40 in the central part is also put down to hold the pipe P between, and the pipe P is clamped vertically as well as horizontally. As being clamped automatically near the processing position, the pipe can be prevented from distortion and processed in high precision.
