Abstract

PURPOSE: To get optimum fuel consumption in accordance with its running conditions, by absorbing sliding action of front and rear wheels at 4-wheel driving by means of differencial gear provided in side of 4-wheel driving apparatus and as well by locking the above mentioned differencial gear when starting at frozen road etc.
CONSTITUTION: To power-output-shaft 10 of speed change gear which is connected with engine, connect driving shaft 13, 15 for driving rear and front wheels via four- wheel driving apparatus 3. At that time, four-wheel drive installation is constructed in providing differential gear 20 composed of epicyclic gear mechanism. Carrier 21 of this differential gear 20 directly connected with power-output shaft 10 and carrier 21 is connected with sun-gear 24 detachably via clutch 26. Moreover, ring gear 23 of differential gear 20 is connected with rear wheel drive shaft 13 and sungear 24 is optionally connect with front wheel drive shaft 15 which provide brake 28 via selective clutch device 30. And by this selective clutch 30, change-over from two wheel drive to four wheel drive is enabled.
