Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a dead space from leading to accidents by mounting a convex reflector comparatively large in radius of curvature with its profile formed in L- shaped slab at a given position and angle. CONSTITUTION:There is provided a punched zone 1 in door shape at the fore corner of a roof 2 on counter side to a driver's seat of an automobile A, which is covered to provide a swelling roof 3 with a pent roof 4 arranged at its fore end edge. Then, a convex reflector 5 comparatively large in radius of curvature with its profile formed in L-shaped slab is mounted in L-shape on the inside bottom of the pent roof 4 along the fore corner of the roof 2, and its mirror face is kept opposite to the ground. To prevent a driver's cabin from being exposed to wind and rain through the punched zone 1, a shielding wall 6 with a transparent window 7 thereon is provided. According to this constitution, a driver is capable of noticing an object present in the L-shaped dead space right beneath the front and the left sides of a car body through the convex reflector 5 from his eyes' position E.
