Abstract
PURPOSE: To make the light source of a photoelectric conversion part low-power consumption by providing a detector which detects whether the position of scale plate indicates a measuring zero position or not and lighting the light source of the photoelectric conversion part by the non-measuring zero position detection output of this detector.
CONSTITUTION: In case of no measuring of measured object 1, the light from luminous element 4a is incident onto photo transistor 4c through zero position indication slit 2b, and therefore, photo transistor 4c is turned on, and light source 3a is extinguished by detector 4. When measuring operations are started under this state, scale plate 2 descends according to an indiscrete value, and no light is incident onto photo transistor 4c, and therefore, light source 3a is lit by detector 4, and photoelectric conversion part 3 starts operations to display weight data on display part 6. When measured object 1 is removed after completion of measuring operations, scale plate 2 is returned to the non-measuring position, and light source 3a is extinguished. Power consumption of the light source of the photoelectric conversion part can be reduced by this operation.
