Abstract

PURPOSE: To adequately detect filter clogging by a mechanism wherein a filter element is mounted inside of the filter body and its displacement is sensed according to pressure difference of exerting liquid.
CONSTITUTION: When filter element 7 is clogged, its fluid resistance increases. Thus, the difference in liquid pressure increases between the inlet 2 side and outlet 3 side. As a result, the filter unit 7 receives increased force from the fluid and moves upward against the elastic force of coil spring 17. The displacement of the coil unit is nearly proportional to the extent to which the filter element has clogged. Thus, the degree of clogging can be detected by the protrusion amount of support shaft 6.
