Abstract
PURPOSE:To selectively remove dross without increasing the rate of dross production by placing still the floating dross of Zn bath surface in a separating vessel, separating the same from differences in specific gravity, securing the dross to the cohesion head having been force-cooled then pulling up the dross cohesion column under sandwiching pressure of the rolls above the vessel while pulling up the cohesion head. CONSTITUTION:The floating dross on Zn bath surface is transferred into a sparating vessel 6 and is allowed to stand still to separate the molten dross 4 and Zn base metal 5 from differences in specific gravity. Next, a cohesion head 1 having a cooling end with hook built in a water cooling pipe is lowered from above of the vessel 6 and the surface dross is secured to said cooling end, thence the head 1 is gradually pulled up and at the same time roll pairs 2 are driven. Next, as the pulling and forcing up progress, the dross is sandwiched under pressure by the roll pairs 2 and the dross cohesion column 3 becomes plate form. After passing all the roll pairs, it becomes plate form cold solidified piece of 40 to 80 mm thick and is delivered out in the form of solid to the outside of the Zn bath vessel.
