Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent an electronic typewriter, which is provided with a control system for controlling the rotation of a printing wheel, from making printing errors, by operating a predetermined key to move the printing wheel to a predetermined stopping position to correct the position where the printing wheel should be stopped.
CONSTITUTION: When a spacer bar for a predetermined key on a keyboard 11 having a plurality of keys is operated, a key signal is input into an input control circuit 12 so that a predetermined code signal is input into a functional processor circuit 17, an arithmetic and logic control circuit 13 and a rotation control circuit 15. Then, a drive motor 3 is actuated by the functional processor circuit 17 so as to move a carriage 2 by a one-letter distance. An arithmetic and logic processing for calculating a required amount of rotation is not carried out by the control circuit 13, and a code signal corresponding to the signal from the space bar is input into the rotation control circuit 15, which then outputs a drive signal. This drive signal is continuously output until a detection signal representative of arrival of the printing wheel at a predetermined stopping position has been input from a detector 16 into the rotation control circuit 15.
