Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent a driven shaft from being rotated at starting by setting a low gear into a starting gear axially supported by the driven shaft with a play, setting a sliding dog set in the low gear into the starting gear and further setting the said dog in an opposed position to a fixed dog on the driven shaft.
CONSTITUTION: Following the rotation increase of crank shaft 1', rotation is transferred from low pinion 4 connected to centrifugal clutch 2 to low gear 7. Then sliding dog 13 is pushed forward by means of screw spline 14, transferring rotation to fixed dog 15. Thus driven shaft 9 is caused to rotate. In the meantime, following the rotation of kick shaft 24, the rotation is transferred to one-way joint 23, kick gear 22 and idler 21 in that order, causing starting gear 10 to rotate. In this way, rotation transfer to the low gear 7 is accomplished. However, due to the disengagement with the fixed dog 15 caused by the withdrawal of the sliding dog 13 into a play 11, rotation is not transferred to the driven shaft 9. Rotation is finally transferred from low gear 7 to low pinion 4 and one-way joint 6, causing crank shaft 1 to be started.
