Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the interference between adjacent rice-cooking pots near the curve of a conveyor, by using a three-dimentionally cirulating conveyor which is folded in the heating zone, and is stretched at the curved part.
CONSTITUTION: An automatic continuous rice-colling machine which comprises a main frame of the machine 4, heat sources 9 under the main frame 4, and a chain conveyor 8 which is driven by a pair of driving sprockets 5, 6 and a passive sprocket 7. The chain conveyor 8 is furnished with a plurality of supporting means 10 at regular intervals having a roller 10d which travels on a rail 14 and a rooler 13 which travels on a guide rail 15. A rice-cooking pot 1 is transferred, guided by a roller 3 and held by the support 10 of the conveyor 8. Since the roll 13 and the roll 10d are guided by the rails 15 and 14, respectively, above the heating sources 9, the conveyor 8 is folded in jigzag pattern in the heating zone. At the curved parts, i.e. near the sprockets, the conveyor 8 is stretched to prvent the interference of the adjacent pots 1. The cooked rice is steamed by the radiant heat of the heat sources 9 after passing through the sprocket 5. If desired, boiled rice with assorted mixture can be prepared by opening a door 19 at the curved part, and adding ingredients to the cooked rice in the pot.
