Abstract
PURPOSE: To heighten the durability of anode rod, by covering cast iron on the surface of anode rod at the part possible to contact with electrolytic bath at pre- baking type carbon electrode.
CONSTITUTION: Electrode is descended until anode rod is contacted with electrolytic bath because carbon electrode is successively consumed from the lower face accompanied by the progress of electrolysis. At this time, durability of the anode rod is deteriorated by suffering severe erosive action at the contact part of the anode rod and also, there is a danger of mixing iron in the bath. Erosive action is prevented sufficiently and maintainance expense is able to reduce, by covering cast iron at the end part of the anode rod, thus improving the unit of the electrode.
