Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide an indoor unit of an air conditioner, wherein a metal reinforcing plate by which a fan motor is supported is fixed to a backside of an integrally molded back plate of synthetic resin, so that the number of parts and the number of assembling steps will be reduced to facilitate the installation of the air conditioner. CONSTITUTION:A back plate 1 is made of integrally molded synthetic resin and can accommodate an integrally molded foamed inner plate 2 and a fan casing 3. A reinforcing plate 6 which is fixed to a back side 1a of the back plate 1 has an upper edge engage portion 5 engageable with an installing plate 4 and has attachment portions 9 which can secure upper portions of flanges 8b of motors 8. Lower portions of the flanges 8b will be received on attachment seats of the back plate 1. Thus the reinforcing plate has various functions and therefore the number of parts and the number of steps for assembling the present apparatus can be reduced to facilitate its installation.
