Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a steam generator which comprises a core body capable of causing capillarity, one end of the core body being immersed to absorb water, the other end of the core body being heated to generate steam, and the core body being permitted to move, thereby the heating efficiency being improved and control of the amount of steam being possible.
CONSTITUTION: One end of a core body 7 is immersed in water 8 present in a water tank 2 to feed water to a heating mechanism 6 by the capillarity. The heating mechanism 6 includes a heating portion 17 comprising a positive coefficient thermistor and clamps the core body 7 while heating it to generate steam. When the heating portion has reached its Curie point, the internal resistance will rapidly be risen to maintain the prescribed temperature. The core body 7 is pulled downward by a spring 27, and when a dial 42 is rotated against the action of the spring 27, the core body 27 is pulled upward through a pulling-up wire 29, so that the clamped portion of the heating portion 20 will be increased, and therefore the evaporation amount of water will be increased.
