Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance total cooling effect by providing a blind path which has only one opening at the center of a rotating shaft, a separating wall to reserve coolant and a connecting hole to a coolant path in a rotor, and a circumferential groove in the inner surface of a stator frame.
CONSTITUTION: A blind path 8, which has only one opening at the center of a rotating shaft 7, is provided; a screening plate 9 having a hole 9a is provided; and a connecting hole 11, which is connected to a coolant passage hole 13 in a rotor 12, is provided. A coolant path 2 in the circumferential direction is provided at the portion of the inner surface of a stator housing 1 opposing a coolant passage hole 5 in a stator 4. The coolant is supplied from a supply nozzle 10 through a hole 9a, is held at the outer portion of the blind path 8, by the screening plate 9; then cools the rotor 12 and the stator 4 through the connecting holes 11 and 13. In this constitution, the cooling effect can be enhanced, and the machining of the coolant path 2 can be readily achieved.
