Abstract

PURPOSE: To firmly fix a cation exchange film to a fluorinated polymer film whose surface is made hydrophilic by corona discharge or metallic sodium, by bonding both the films to each other with a porous hydrophilic fluorinated polymer interposed between the films.
CONSTITUTION: The surface of a film of a fluorinated polymer of tetrafluoroethylene, hexafluoropropylene or the like is made hydrophilic by corona discharge, metallic sodium or the like. A porous hydrophilic fluorinated polymer, whose So3H group or sulfonamide group is treated with a tertiary amine, a quaternary NH4 base or a salt thereof, is interposed between the film and a cation exchange film to bond these films to each other.
