Abstract
PURPOSE: To easily obtain an ornamental embossed board which has a high bonding property and whose solid appearance is heightened, by producing a filler layer on a base board, sticking a thermoplastic resin film with a bonding agent on the filler layer and performing embossment by heated projections.
CONSTITUTION: A filler layer 2 is produced on a base board 1 such as plywood. A thermoplastic bonding agent such as vinyl acetate is coated on the filler layer 2. At the same time, a thermoplastic resin film 4 on which a desired pattern of a vinyl chloride resin film or the like is printed is laminated. Embossment 7 is then effected by an embossment roll 6 heated at a high temperature only in its projections 5, thereby obtaining an ornamental laminated board. At that time, the filler layer 2 is also softened under pressure by the projections 5 so that recesses are provided on the filler layer 2 as well. This results in heightening the solid appearance of the embossment and increasing the adhesive power of the embossed part.
