Abstract

PURPOSE: To cheaply manufacture the titled product with sufficient strength for use of connecting the wire rope and cable wire, by cutting the solid rod being formed through the hot extrusion into a specified length, by executing the cold forging work in order to form a cavity to be finished later into a hole, and next, by piercing the bottom of this cavity.
CONSTITUTION: The material billet made of Al alloy or the like is hot extruded into a solid rod, which is then cut into a specified length; hereby, the solid blank 10 is prepared. Next, this solid blank 10 is cold forged with the die and the cold forging stem; and an intermediate product 20 possessing a cavity 22 is obtained. Then, this intermediate product 20 is heat treated if necessary; and its bottom is pierced by the blanking work; as a result, the cavity 22 is made into a through hole and the product 30 of the clamp pipe is manufactured. According to this method, since the cavity to be the hole is formed by the forging work, the hollow pipe extrusion work is freed from the necessity of close attention to the formation of thickness deviation, etc., and besides, the productivity for manufacturing the hollow rod is more superior as compared with the mandrel die extrusion method.
