Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the captioned discs with a small-capacity press with good yield by providing fitting parts to the segment pieces comprising dividing an annular body to a number of pieces and blanking the same from a metal plate blank, restoring the abovementioned segment pieces to the original annular form and securing these to an integral unit through welding.
CONSTITUTION: In producing the annular disc made of metal plate used for brake disc of automobiles, etc., one disc is divided to an arbitrary number of pieces and fitting concave parts and convex parts 6 are provided to the mutually opposing end parts of both of the segment pieces 4 to form engaging parts 5, and with these being arrayed in a proximate state by leaving a slight spacing on the metal plate blank 1 of the specified thickness, the foreging segment pieces 4 are blanked. These segment pieces 4 are fitted at the convex parts 6 and concave parts 7 to be restored to the original form and the fitting portions are integrally secured by welding. If necessary, lapping is applied, whereby the annular disc is obtained. As compared to the integral blanking from metal plate in conventional methods, the yield of material may be made higher.
