Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the wear-resisting property of an overlapped leaf spring consisting of a main leaf spring an auxiliary leaf springs, without increasing the weight, the number of manufacturing steps or the like, by integrally coupling the surface layers of the auxiliary leaf springs with thin sheets of carbon-fiber-reinforced synthetic resin or steel. CONSTITUTION:An overlapped leaf spring unit 1 comprises a main leaf spring 2 made of steel and auxiliary leaf springs 3, 4 made of FRP. These leaf springs 2-4 are overlapped with interposed pieces 5 in the direction of the thickness. Round parts 6 provided on the both the ends of the main leaf spring 2 are connected to a car body. Fiberglass or the like is embedded in the auxiliary leaf springs 3, 4. thin sheets of carbon fibers, steel or the like are integrally coupled to surface layers 7, 8 of the auxiliary leaf springs at both the ends of their tension sides. This results in minimizing the wear of the leaf springs 2-4 etc. even if the surface layers 7, 8 slide on the main leaf spring 2 and the auxiliary leaf spring 3.
