Abstract

PURPOSE:To get required damping characteristics of a hydraulic buffer, by combining a damping force regulating mechanism which can control the damping function from outside with a temperature compensating mechanism which automatically compensate the fluctuation of damping force due to thermal change. CONSTITUTION:As a projection 27 is transferred along a stepped way 26 by turning a manipulator 23, an adjustor 19 is axially transferred in steps and a needle valve 16 is also axially transferred through non-compressive liquid 21 in a piston rod 5. This alters a clearance between the needle valve 16 and an oil hole 13 to control the damping force of oil flow. As the temperature of liquid 21 rises in compliance with the rise in temperature of oil 1 through operation of the buffer, its volume is increased and then the needle valve 16 is moved downward to reduce the clearance between the oil hole 13 and needle valve 16. As a result, the reduction of damping force caused by a reduction of oil viscosity is compensated.
