Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the maintenance and to increase the operation accuracy, by covering various motor overload ratings with two setters, through the detection of the overload of a motor by means of electronic operation of motor current.
CONSTITUTION: The armature current of the motor 1 is detected with the shunt resistor 2, for example, and it is fed to the gain adjustment proportional circuit 3 as the voltage, and the output ia is fed to the square characteristic circuit 4 and normalized. The signal ia' normalized is fed to the long time first order delay circuit 5 having the time constant setter 6 of first order delay to form the signal θ simulating the temperature rise of the motor 1. The signal is compared with the temperature rise set value at the comparator 8. With this comparison, alarm signal is produced when the set value is exceeded. Thus, the overload of the motor 1 is electronically operated with the armature current and various motor overload ratings can be covered with the two setters 6, 7, allowing to perform simple maintenance, to reduce the dispersion in the characteristics and to increase the accuracy of operation.
