Abstract

PURPOSE: To secure switch operation by eliminating a circumferential influence by providing a couple of transparent conductive film divided into two being isolated on a transparent substrate and then by inputting the value of resistance between both transparent conductive films by varying it by a finger.
CONSTITUTION: On the front surface of transparent substrate 1, a couple of divided transparent electrode films 12 and 12' are provided to constitute a switch part and each lead-out electrode 22 is connected to common lead-out electrode 22'. Further, display transparent electrodes 5 forming characters, etc., are provided on transparent glass substrate 4, common transparent electrode 7 on transparent substrate 8; and liquid-crystal layer 6 is further provided between electrodes 5 and 7 for display. Once an operator touches both transparent electrode films 12 and 12' by fingers, a change in resistance value between both electrodes is detected as the input of key operation through leadout electrodes 22 and 22'.
