Abstract
PURPOSE:To control generation of noise field due to discharge, by forming the spark discharge unit, at least, of either of rotor or stationary electrode with a compound of metal and insulator. CONSTITUTION:The electric conductor 11 of a rotor electrode made of copper, brass, etc. is applied with a compound of metal 12 such as copper and brass and insulating powder 13 such as Al2O3 and SiO2. This compound is formed by cooling and solidifying a mixture of the fused metal with the insulating powder. Ions accumulated on the insulating powder 13 increase the field strength near the discharge surface, reduce the peak level of capacity discharge current by increasing the discharge of electrons and ionization between rotor and stationary electrodes and thus suppress the discharge noise. This also can reduce energy loss caused by discharge through reduction of firing potential.
