Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce load due to pipe resistance at the time of starting an engine and thus ease the starting, by keeping the rake angle of a variable capacity pump neutral by means of a rake angle controller when the engine is interrupted.
CONSTITUTION: A portion 12 of a rake angle controllr 4 is mechanically connected with a variable pump 1 through a sliding spool in a casing 11. The discharge pressure of the pump 1 is directly applied on a piston 15 and indirectly on another piston 16 through a reversing valve 5. The pilot pressure is introduced to a pressure chamber 11a through a shuttle valve 10. Since the pump pressure is zero when the engine is out of operation, and spool 12 is pushed to the right end 11b of the casing 11 and the rake angle of the pump 1 is neutral. This reduces load caused by pipe resistance at the time of engine start and improves the starting performance of the engine.
