Abstract
PURPOSE: To measure temperature of the coal layer during carbonization easily by using a protective double-pipe.
CONSTITUTION: The protective double-pipe 8 that consists of the outer pipe 9 and the inner pipe 10 with the collar 11 is prepared. The double-pipe is inserted from the opening 2 into the carbonization chamber 5 until the tip of double-pipe is reached near the bottom of the chamber before casting the coal, and is suspended by the metal hanger 14. Next coal is cast into the carbonization chamber, the outer pipe 9 is pulled up as the inner pipe is remained after homogenization, a thermocouple is inserted into the inner pipe through the outer pipe until it is reached the tip end of the inner pipe. The opening 2 is closed with cover, the carbonization is started, and temperature of the coal is measured during carbonization. In this way, temperature of both the carbonization chamber inside and the coal layer in the vertical direction can exactly be measured.
