Abstract

PURPOSE: To readily construct an AC type transmission photoelectric switch commonly for 100VAC and 200VAC by lowering the frequency of the irradiated pulse light and raising the peak value of the light to thereby stabilize the operation thereof.
CONSTITUTION: A light emission unit 100 consists of a half-wave rectifying diode 111, resistors 112, 113, a zener diode 114, a PUT 115, capacitors 116, 118, a diode 117, an inductor 119, and an LED 120. The LED 120 is driven in predetermined phase of the initial portion of the half wave where a current is not supplied after the half wave rectified output falls. A photodetector 300 consists of a light recieving circuit 310, a cut-off circuit 320, a smoothing circuit 330, a bypass circuit 340, a half-wave rectifying diode 350, and a load switching circuit 370. When an article 200 to be detected shields the light from the light emission unit 100, a current flows through a load L.
