Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable the thick originals such as books to be copied through simple operation by providing a drawable original platen below the body of the copying machine, placing the originals thereon and pushing the original platen into right under the platen.
CONSTITUTION: A pair of mounting frames 12 are secured in the horizontal direction on both side parts of a platen 3 and one end sides of the 1st, 2nd arms 13, 14 are vertically oscillatably mounted to the mounting frames 12 by way of pins 15, 16. The other end sides of the 1st, 2nd arms 13, 14 are respectively vertically turnably supported by way of pins 18, 19 to both end faces 17a of the original platen 17. The pins 18, 19, 15, 16 position respectively at the vertexes of the parallelogram. The orginal platen 17 is drawn out toward the operator and the book S with pages being held open is placed on an elastic pat 20. When the original platen is pushed in, the book is pushed to the bottom surface of the platen, thus the thick originals may be copied through simple operation.
