Abstract

PURPOSE: To secure the application of the phase modulator for the carriers covering from the low to high frequencies with no amplitude modulation component contained in the modulated wave by making use of the phase variation of the serial resonance circuit using the variable capacity diode.
CONSTITUTION: The control is given to variable inductance 14 as well as to the bias voltage of variable capacity diode 15 in modulation resonance circuit 13 to which the 1st carrier distributed from opposite-phase distributor 12, thus securing the resonance of the modulation resonance circuit. Then the control is given to the variable resistance attenuator to which the carrier featuring the opposite phase difference to the 1st carrier from distributor 12, thus securing the constant amplitude. The output between both terminals of variable resistance 16 is synthesized with the output of the variable resistor through in-phase synthesized unit 21 and then delivered after amplification through amplifier 22. Then the modulation signal is supplied to bias voltage terminal 19 from bias circuit 18 possessing modulation wave input terminal 17. Thus the phase modulation wave featuring the constant amplitude can be obtained at unit 21.
