Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce greatly the residual distortion by detecting the distortion amount of the vertical line with every scanning line and then giving the correction via the correction signal according to the detected distortion amount. CONSTITUTION:In case the vertical line distortion features the form of code 19, the phase difference is detected through time interval detector 15 between the horizontal synchronous signal and the first index signal within the same cycle starting at the horizontal synchronous signal and in repetition for the vertical cycle in order to detect the distortion amount of the vertical line. And now if the distortion amount at a-a', b-b' and c-c' are supposed to time tau1, tau2 and tau3 each after conversion of the time interval, these detection time are converted via pulse duration/amplitude converter 16 into the distortion correction signal featuring the amplitude variation with form 19 set as the envelope curve. Then this distortion correction signal is supplied to the base of transistor 10 of correction transformer 11 to carry out the vertical line distortion correction. The inverting circuit 17 is added to secure the reverse polarity since the polarity of the distortion correction signal is inverted. As a result, the residual distortion can be reduced greatly.
