Abstract

PURPOSE: Paper is printed with autumn and spring patterns respectively, and bonded to a substrate, then the spring pattern is covered with top coat layer, thereby providing a decorative plate having three dimensional wood feeling.
CONSTITUTION: A substrate 1 and paper 2 are bonded together through adhesive layer 7. The surface of the paper 2 has printed ink layers 3 and 4, respectively expressing autumn and spring wood patterns. The spring pattern ink layer 4 is coated with colorless or colored transparent ink layer 5 whose refractive index is different from top coat layer 6. The top coat layer 6 smoothly covers the entire surface, including the transparent ink layer and unprinted surface. Thus, the process provides a decorative plate having three dimensional wood feeling and smooth surface without any treatment on the top coat layer.
