Abstract
PURPOSE: To perform a fast regeneration in purifier and a smooth resumption after the stop of operation in a liquid Na cooling material purifier system in a fast breeder reactor by providing a circulation circuit through degassing pot in between the degassing pot and the tank of the purifier body.
CONSTITUTION: A circulation circuit 31 is formed by connecting an H2-polluted liquid Na purifier 3 with degassing pot 22 in regenration system. After several days of operation stop, liquid Na solidifies in the tank 11 and the pot 22. To resume the purification operation, heater 26 melts solid Na and the pump 33 circulates liquid Na through the circuit 31. Then, heating is stopped, cooler 13 is actuated, and the normal operation starts. In regenerating the entire purifier body 3, Na is circulated through the pot 22 so that the entire liquid Na approaches to the liquid-gas contact area in the degassing pot 22. This accelerates impurity H2 to be diffused and transferred to the free liquid surface 23 in the pot 22, thus reducing time needed for regeneration.
