Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce loss of quantity of heat which is accumulated and accumulate heat for a long time by using the 1st and the 2nd materials with a physical propery where exothermic reaction in adsorption and separation of adsorbed gas in heating are reversibly conducted in the same gas.
CONSTITUTION: When heat is accumulated, materials which react in a high temperature district (e.g. magnesium nickel hydride alloy) 18 are kept in a gas adsorptive condition, materials which react in a low temperature district (e.g. titanuim iron hydride alloy) 20 are kept in a gas-separative condition, valves 39, 41 are closed, valves 38, 40, 24, 33 are opened and pumps 34, 36 are operated. Then, high temperature heat medium circulates through a heat exchanging pipe 27, a pump 34, a heat exchanging pipe 38 and a material 18 is heated by the heat of a heat source 16. The material 18 separates and releases gas, which is supplied to a vessel 21 through a pipe 23. The gas in this vessel 21 is adsorbed in a material 20 and the heat produced in given to the external circumstance 37 through pipes 30, 31.
