Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the constitution of the scanning optical system simple and prevent cross modulation by providing a parallel driving acousto-optic element on the focusing plane of the light beams divided by a holocoupler.
CONSTITUTION: The laser beams divided by a holocoupler 3 are made to the intensity-modulated beams according to signals by the parallel driving acousto-optic element 5 provided with the transducers 51, 52... disposed by being given angles with each other in alignment to the divided beams on the focusing plane 4. These beams go through a lens 6, cylindrical lens 7, rotary polyhedral mirror 8, rθ lens 9, troidal lens 10, etc. whereby the surface on the drum 11 conjugate with the plane 4 is subjected to multibeam simultaneous photo scanning. This simple constitution eliminates the need for using plural laser beams and using any multifrequency acousto-optic element and obviates the occurrence of cross modulation.
