Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase the mechanical and electrical strength of the title photoreceptor and enhance the durability thereof by using a reaction product of a compound having three or more epoxy groups in one molecule and an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid as an insulating layer.
CONSTITUTION: A photoconductive layer made of Se-Te or the like is formed on a support made of Al or the like, and the layer is coated with an alcoholic solution of a hardenable composition based on a reaction product of a compound having three or more epoxy groups in one molecule, e.g. represented by the formula and an unsaturated carboxylic acid such as acrylic acid. The composition in the coated solution is hardened by photopolymerization or other method to form an insulating layer. This composition hardens without penetrating into the opening portion of the photoconductive layer, forming a solvent resistant film. Since the composition is dissolved in a solvent which does not erode the layer, a superior photosensitive layer is obtained, resulting in a clear image.
