Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent occurrence of coating unevenness due to lacking of coating quantity, by intermittently press-fitting the offset preventive liquid supply member, which is not deformed by repeated press-fitting, at a constant pressure to a pair of fixing rollers or coating rollers contacting therewith.
CONSTITUTION: Silicone oil 10 is supplied to a fixing device consisting of a fixing upper roller 1 incorporating a heater 4 and a fixing lower roller 5, through a coating roller 14, by repeatedly and intermittently press-fitting an offset preventive liquid supply member 17. The member 17 is composed of an elastic liquid leading coating layer 18 excelling in elasticity and recovering quickly from deformation after releasing press-fitting so as not to cause permanent deformation, and a liquid absorbing layer 19 of which one end is dipped in liquid cell 9 to supply oil 10 into the elastic liquid leading coating layer 18. As the elastic liquid leading coating layer 18, a silicon foamed body of which average pore diameter is 15W30μ, thickness 2W6mm, and porosity 50W95% should be used. In this constitution, therefore, occurrence of coating unevenness and paper crease due to lack of coating quantity may be improved.
