Abstract

PURPOSE: To manufacture a shaped piece whose electric properties are excellent even if it is covered with water, by shaping a vulcanizable rubber or synthetic resin mixed with CaO, a prescribed electric property improving agent and a mineral filler and then vulcanizing the shaped substance.
CONSTITUTION: A vulcanizable rubber or synthetic resin is mixed with a mineral filler, CaO as a foaming prevention agent and at least one substance selected from a group of a compound (A) having a boiling point of 160°C or more and represented by a formula I where four X's denote a hydrogen atom, saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon group, alkoxy or the like but do not all mean an identical group, a methylphenylsiloxane compound (B) represented by a formula II where R denotes methyl, methoxy or hydroxy, R' denotes a hydrogen atom or methyl, ϕ denotes phenyl and n shows a number of 2W20, a methylphenylvinylsiloxane compound (C) represented by a formula III where Y denotes vinyl, m denotes a number of 1W20, n denotes a number of 1W10, N shows a number of 2W20 and (m+n) is equal to 2W20 and a lead oxide or lead salt of organic carboxylic acid (D) as an electric property improving agent. The mixture is extruded so that it is shaped. The shaped mixture is vulcanized without being pressurized.
