Abstract
PURPOSE: To manufacture hydrogen bromide from a hydrogen bromide water solution economically by a method wherein the hydrogen bromide water solution is distilled under the existence of magnesium bromide.
CONSTITUTION: Approximate 20W95% magnesium bromide is added to a hydrogen bromide water solution and distilled. It is available that the hydrogen bromide water solution with approximate 20W47% concentration (particularly, 47% concentration in azeotropic composition) is used as the water solution as raw material. When the concentration of magnesium bromide added is made to be not less than 60%, azeotropic composition is no longer formed, and hydrogen bromide is efficiently obtained.
